If we want to start seeing the power of God manifest in our lives, we will have to start paying attention to the things we say. Words have power more than any of us can realize, but we often speak them as though they are meaningless. With your words you can help lift a burdened soul or weigh it down the more. Many relationships have been ruined due to inappropriate use of words and I will like to share some thoughts with you in this article that will show you how to properly channel your words in ways that will be of great benefit to you, instead of speaking words that are of negative or no value to your life.
“And Jesusanswering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast intothe sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”. (Mark11:22-23).
When you read from verse 21 of the above chapter, Jesus spoke to the fig-tree and it withered from its roots. This is the way you operate the faith of God – you speak the desired result and do not doubt in your heart. In other words, you believe that your words are powerful and the things you say will come to pass.
Before I go on, I will like to clearly explain what faith is. Most believers have the belief that faith moves God to do things – but that’s not so true. I want you to know something, God is not the one that stopped, and God is not the one that needs to be moved. God moved ever before we had problems. God moved through Jesus. Every person that will ever be healed has been healed, every person that will ever be saved has already been forgiven, and it’s already been done over 2000years ago through Jesus. You don’t need God to move, you don’t need God to come heal you. God has provided everything through Jesus. You can’t make God do anything. He has already made provision for all that we will ever need for life and godliness.Faith never gets God to do something new He has never done before; God by grace has provided these things for us.
What does faith do? Faith is a positive response to what God has already done by grace. Faith reaches out or appropriates what God has already provided by grace. Faith does not make God heal you, God has already healed you (see 1Pet 2:24), faith doesn’t make God to bless you, God has already blessed you (see Eph 1:3). Faith is what brings to reality that which God has made available by grace. Faith is just a positive response to what you believe that God has already made provision for by grace. Now that you have understood what faith is, just channel your heart to all that God has made available for you by grace and release your faith for it and you will see result.
Words of faith are your connection with the supernatural power of God. You must be aware and conscious of the fact that there is tremendous power in your confession. Being conscious that your words are backed up with power; we must speak only words we want to come to pass and believe they all will produce result. Let faith-filled words proceed from your mouth at all times, even in the face of negative situation and circumstances.God spoke what He wanted to see over what He was seeing: He spoke forth and said ‘let there be light’ and there was light. He did not confess the negatives that He saw. He did not pray the problem, He prayed the solution. The solution is light and He spoke it forth. At the tomb of Lazarus, Jesus did not just stay there to cry with the mourners, he moved away to Lazarus and called out the living from among the dead, even though he had been dead four days and was already buried and smelling. Faith does not see the problem; it sees the solution and calls forth what it sees. The miracle is in your mouth, no longer in the mouth of Jesus. He has given it to you. “The word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart: that is,the word of faith, which we preach.” (Romans 10:8).
Meditating on and continually feeding on the Word will change your vocabulary. Faith isn’t borne in your heart until you find out what God says about something. As Romans 10:17 says “…faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God”. Once you hear God’s Word and believe it fervently, the supernatural power of faith comes out strong within you. For your words to be so powerful that they can cause things to come to pass, they must have the force of faith behind them. Your confession responds to the level of the Word of God that is working in you. When you are loaded with the Word, faith comes out strong in you. The physical body needs food for strength, so also the spirit of man needs spiritual food(the Word of God) for strength. God’s Word is your life; the more of His Word you have going into your spirit, the more the life is comes out.
In conclusion, a man of God said “the way you live your life will affect your relationship with God and your relationship with God will affect the way you live your life”. Invest today in the things of the spirit.
