Friends are like stones, you meet them everywhere, but true friends are like diamonds, you get to meet them on very rare occasions. They don’t easily come by, but when they are found, they remain with you, creating lasting impact in your life.
Letting this kind of friends know how important and influential they have been to you should be something done out of joy. These are people who proverbs 27:17 talks about “iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpenth the countenance of his friend”.
These friends who contribute to your progress and are ready to give everything that they have just to see you improve. These are friends who are not comfortable with your present state, they believe that you can always get better and most importantly they don’t give you fish but they teach you how to fish. In other words, they are not interested in giving you a quick fix but rather they show and follow you through the process of getting it done. These are friends who do not just tell you of your weaknesses but they also provide possible solutions to help solve it.
God always bring this persons our way for a reason. He is so caring that he would not live us the way we are, and I can testify to that, that God has brought true friends my way that have created and are still creating lasting impacts in my life.
Today, I’m using this opportunity to celebrate with one of my true friends (Tomi Esther Iyiola) who God brought my way, she is celebrating her birthday today. So, I thought to myself “what possible way can I express my gratitude to her” I decided to write something about her, using this platform to announce to the world how special she is. She is a lady I respect and admire.
I know great personalities are born in the month of January, but my friend Victor Ejechi (Vsix) would not agree to that. To him it is the month of March. But people born in the month of June have the greatest personality and influence (smiles).
For the short period of time we have known each other, there are some things I have noticed about her and of which I find interesting, I’m sure she will be hearing this from me for the first time. She is fun to be with and every moment with her is never a dull moment. She is a “pictureholic”. She is one of those persons in our generation whom God is using to reach out to the World. She is a lady with a difference. We need more of such ladies in our day and time, to school the ladies in this world what it means to be a lady with a difference. Letting them know that it’s not all about outward adorning just like what the Apostle Peter said but paying more attention to the inner man.
She is someone who loves God. You might be wondering, “What is so special about that, most ladies loves God” everything is special about that my friend. We have people who profess their love for God but their deeds are contrary to what they profess. They profess their love for God but they have nothing to show for it, their hearts are far from His ways.
But it’s not so with her, I admire her passion and zeal for the work of God. She is always eager and full of expectation when it comes to the things of the Spirit. Apostle Paul wrote in 2timothy 3: 1-2 “…in the last days…men will be lovers of self…” in this last days where our young ladies pay little or no attention when it comes to the things of God, they love their life more than their love for God, they are so much interested on the pleasure of the now.
But the grace of God upon Esther’s life has been abounding and her love for the Lord is increasing. We are in the last days when the love of many are waxing cold, people are becoming reluctant to the things of God, but finding one that still hold on to the word and increasing in the zeal of God should be admired.
She is a lady who has the fear of the Lord. Having the fear of the Lord doesn’t mean to be afraid of God, no. God doesn’t want you to be afraid of Him. That’s the reason why most times when an angel from God appears to man, the first thing they say is that “be not afraid” “do not be afraid”.
To have the fear of the Lord simply means to have reverence, regards, having respect for the things of God. Proverb 31:30 “…a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised”. Her regards, respect for the Lord inspires me, and telling the world how she has contributed to my progress is something I will be forever ready to do.
As you celebrate this new age, I pray for God’s wisdom to be manifested in great portion in your life. The light of God in you will continue to glow. Indeed you are a diamond amongst stones.
Happy Birthday Esther
