The evidence of the life that we have received is in the fruit that we bear. You can’t have the seed of God in you and your living has nothing to show for it, it is an anomaly. By nature as a believer, you are good, loving, faithful, kind, think of anything good and wonderful, that is who you are in Christ Jesus.
But these things won’t become evident in you automatically. That’s why we are encouraged to not be conformed to this world but to have a renewed mind (see Romans 12:2) and in Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things”.
The challenge for many of us is not coming from an unregenerate spirit (that has been taken care of the day you became born again) but from an unrenewed mind. Spend time renewing your mind with the Word of God, because, a renewed mind births a transformed life.
In his letter to the Church at Ephesus, the apostle Paul wrote “You were taught with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness” (Ephesians 4:22-23, NIV).
