In time past, whenever I spoke and write on topics related to relationships especially marriage relationships, I always get feedbacks asking questions like “are you married?” and when I respond with a “no”, you can guess what the reply would look like. I have to come to understand that facing matters of life is not something one does without adequate preparations.
The mistake a lot of persons make is that they place more emphasis on ‘experience’ than placing more emphasis on the Scriptures (Bible). Even when you are trying to make them see what the Scriptures teach, they are busy citing instances from the life of Mr. X and Mrs. Y. you can’t be a productive and effective believer with a mindset like this! You need to repent (change your mind). You can’t receive godly counsel with such a mindset because you would want to go to someone who would tell you what you want to hear.
NEVER place a higher priority on people’s experiences over God’s word! Even if a thousand and one people are screaming the same thing never bow to it, if God’s word speaks otherwise, do well to shun those voices and go with God’s word. This is one reason why some people would not like to come to me on matters about a relationship (but the numbers are few compared to the once that have embraced godly counsel) because they know I will first and foremost refer them to God’s word. We will have to judge all things in the light of the Scriptures. God has an opinion on all matters.
Back to our topic, you may agree with me that the fall of man has led God’s plan and purpose for mankind to be attacked by sin and death which has also led to the poor living of mankind. The apostle Peter calls it “…the corruption that is in the world” (see 2Pet 1:4). This corruption is what has driven a lot of women into various kinds of activities that counters God’s plan and purpose. God’s original plan for womanhood can be seen in Genesis chapter two and if we compare it with the current state of things it seems like a gap that only His second coming can correct.
In Genesis 2:20-21 “…But for Adam, no suitable helper was found. So, the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep…then the LORD God made a woman from…the man…and he brought her to the man” (NIV, EA). A ‘whoreman’ is a corrupt version of the woman and a counterfeit of God’s original plan for womanhood. God created the woman for a purpose and that purpose is to be a suitable helper for the man. You were not created for ‘everyman’ but for a man.
It’s only a whoreman that sees herself as a creation that is meant to cast her desires and burnings upon any man for temporary gains and pleasures. As a woman, you need to see yourself as a support system, a help that is suitable for a man. The reason I have been using the term ‘a man’ and not the ‘the man’ is because contrary to popular opinion that God created you for a specific man is a false understanding and unscriptural. You weren’t created for a particular man and no man was created to marry a particular woman. I’m not expounding on this here, maybe in another article.
So, this is a call to return to God’s original plan, and this can be achieved through chastity. Don’t let any man deceive you with mere words and promise of marriage to have you into fulfilling his own desires. A lady shared with me sometimes back on her last relationship where the man promised marriage but was planning on traveling out of the country and to come to take her also after he has settled. The relationship led to sex and after that, the young man traveled and forgot about her. This same lady entered into a relationship with another guy and the young man is asking for sex and she seems to want to give in (after all, she said, it has happened before). If one is not properly guided in cases like this, it could lead to promiscuity.
I believe that habits, just as how we picked it up, we can also drop them if they pose a hindrance to our growth and development. To some, this issue we have discussed has become a habit and if it is not checked now, it will grow into something bigger. No amount of motivational speech can change a man’s nature and the core of his being. All that motivation will produce will only result in behavior modification without salvation. It is only salvation that comes to a man through the finished work of Christ can set a man free.
“for the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age”.
John 1:14&17 made us see whom the grace of God is “…we have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only son…full of grace and truth. For the law was GIVEN through Moses; grace and truth CAME through Jesus Christ” (NIV).
While the Law was GIVEN (it didn’t come, it was a rep in a tablet), grace CAME (as a Person and not a rep). The grace of God as having seen is Jesus Christ! That is who can set a man free his bondage and the corruption that is in this world. Glory to God!!!
If you know you have not yet received Christ Jesus as your Savior, you can do that right away by saying these prayers after me:
Lord Jesus, I believe today in your finished work that sets me free from sin and death. I accept you today as my savior and Lord. Thank you for making me whole by your body that was slain and your blood that was shed for my sins”.
This is a new beginning for you! For those of you who are in the light, continue in it and keep the faith. I pray this article to meet you at the point of your need.
Say no to a WHOREMEN generation.
